Karly Zacharia
Karly is a dietitian and a PhD candidate at the University of Newcastle. Her research has included a study defining the current dietary intake and diet quality of stroke survivors, and another exploring the dietary behaviour after stroke to understand the challenges with planning, shopping and preparing foods. Alongside stroke survivors, Karly co-designed a Mediterranean Diet program delivered by Telehealth and delivered a Randomised controlled trial (the ENAbLE trial) to test if the program is safe, feasible and effective. Karly is also works in consumer engagement and supports researchers and stroke survivors to connect and work together on research. Karly is passionate about collaboration and co-design to create and deliver the best interventions that support recurrent stroke prevention.
