The Australasian Stroke Academy encourage you to attend our pre-conference workshop, held 09:00 to 12:30 on Tuesday August 22.
We will host in-depth discussions from clinical experts from Australia and New Zealand on hot topics including Endovascular Thrombectomy for large core stroke and considerations for patients referred and transferred over long distances. We will also have an interactive case discussion component. Delegates are encouraged to ask questions throughout the workshop. If there are particular topics of interest to be covered in a case discussion format, please email them to contact@strokeacademy.com.au. so we can tailor the content to the audience’s requests. Alternatively, please bring along cases on a USB stick and let us know you have a case to share on the day.
We invite all early and mid-career stroke researchers to this year’s ESCS (Emerging Stroke Clinicians and Scientists) workshop entitled ‘Championing Underrepresented Populations in Stroke Care and Research’ which aims to highlight the importance of equity and inclusivity, with a particular focus on women in stroke, stroke survivors with aphasia, first nations people and young stroke research. The session will be an opportunity for attendees to network and meet fellow early- and mid-career researchers in the stroke field.
The ESCS of the SSA is a special interest group aimed at clinicians and scientists who are either undertaking a postgraduate or clinical degree with a focus or interest in stroke research; or are researchers or early career clinicians engaged in stroke research. Since its inception in 2018, this workshop has been run bi-annually as a satellite of the SSA conference, providing an opportunity for budding clinicians and scientists from all disciplines of stroke to engage with their peers and hear from established leaders in the field.
A networking lunch from 12:30-1:30 is included, with sessions commencing at 1:30pm
